What you said about trying to make the page 100% perfect and then finding your own balance between references and making the comic attractive...I'm ashamed to say that I have never gotten that far into it. Only just now am I starting to realize that backgrounds and scenery are extremely important for a successful comic. I looked at the page you uploaded in the first post. I could immediately tell a difference in that piece and what I've seen from you in the past. That page is beautiful, Tim. It really does have cleaner lines and a better sense of space, I think.
